The
Scottish
Enlightenment was a period in the 18th century that geographically
focused on Edinburgh. Gatherings of the most literate people that made
the
Enlightenment took place in different clubs and societies in Edinburgh.
What they shared was the belief that mankind was able to effect changes
for the better in society and nature.
